Walking Safely on Ice in the Winter
By Nightsquid Nightly
Walking Safely on Ice One of the biggest reasons people go to the emergency room during the winter months can be attributed to slip and fall injuries, and a main contributor to these injuries is people slipping on ice. Preventing Winter Injuries A tip that I learned from a friend who grew up in Michigan was to take an old pair of pantyhose and put them over the outside of my shoes, I'm not exactly certain why this helps create traction on ice but it does a great job helping me navigate my way to the mini mart to pick up the essentials during the occasional winter storm. So make sure you save a couple of old pairs of pantyhose for such an occasion, because enjoying the Winters splendor is much easier done outside the emergency room of a hospital. |
